Hand crafted engraved wooden trophy
The basis for the trophy is one of our 38cm diameter by 2.7cm thick bread boards, and originally came about following an enquiry from one of our customers (you can read the full story here). As standard the trophy comes with a base/plinth and additionally the main board can be mounted on the wall using the hidden fixing. The groove on the face is an option and can be either vee-shape or rounded as shown in the images. We think it is a must as it provides a frame for the text.
A vast array of possibilities exist when it comes to the design of the engraved wooden trophy; if you have an idea that is not listed please contact us as it may well be possible.
Each trophy is made from full-length stave oak and may be personalised with your own text or logo, or a design from our range of 2D and 3D motifs. We can also create your own unique personalised cipher.
The elliptical base, or plinth, of the trophy is made from a single piece of prime European oak and has maximum measurements of 20x30x4cm. Two dowels are fitted to support the trophy and are glued in place. On one occasion we were asked by the customer to make the trophy readily portable, so the dowels were push-fit only allowing the entire item to be flat-packed. If you require the trophy to be gift-wrapped the dowels will be push-fit too.
Each wooden trophy is finished with a number of coats of fine oil giving a subtle, semi-matt finish.
Belinda –
Thank you so, so much for producing such a beautiful trophy for Ascot last weekend.
I attach a photo of Peter Borg-Neal the CEO of Oakman Inns presenting it to the stable lass who looks after Shambolic, the winner. Sadly neither of the two owners were there – the Duke of Devonshire and the Duke of Roxburghe and I’m not sure which one will end up receiving it!
One of the Directors at Ascot was so impressed she said she’d like to sell them in the Ascot shop.

Dear John and Diana,
The Trophy arrived safely yesterday .
I am just delighted with it – in fact it is better than I imagined.
The oval plinth was a great idea and brings an elegant symmetry to the two pieces – the plinth now looks part of the trophy and not just a necessary base.
The Bread Board is outstanding and the sponsors are very happy and look forward to presenting it on the 13th November. They wanted a trophy that stands out, has a wheat connection and emblem, is rural, has a unique design, is well crafted and attracts the competitors – you have amply fulfilled all these criteria.
You have also kept me informed and adhered to your promised del. schedule and so – no stress for me!
It has been a pleasure doing business with you and perhaps there will be further opportunities .
I will forward a photo of the presentation for your archives.
Every success to the Oak Chopping Board Co., and Good Health to yourselves .
